| Summary, etc. | En évitant de s'en tenir à des catégories assignatrices trop rigides, compte tenu de la fluidité et de la fragilité des statuts, l'article s'efforce de caractériser la fonction de la métropole d'Istanbul dans le système actuel des migrations, mobilités et circulations internationales. Plusieurs figures sont ainsi successivement convoquées et articulées, qui permettent de typifier ces fonctions : la figure du comptoir, celle du hub, du sas et de l'impasse. Derrière ces figures se profilent des trajectoires et des stratégies, ainsi que des modes d'investissement d'Istanbul très différents. De la sorte, le cas d'Istanbul, pôle fort du corridor anatolien, à l'interface entre mondes convoités et mondes fuis, incite à reconsidérer le rôle structurant du fait métropolitain dans l'économie complexe des mobilités internationales. Centre de ressources et noeud de réseaux aux dimensions multiples, Istanbul fonctionne comme un commutateur, transformant, requalifiant et réorientant en continu les flux. |

| Summary, etc. | The Trading Post, the Hub, the Lock and the Dead End.Functions in the International Migratory System. Refusing dominantly used a priori categories such as irregular and regular migrants-, that seem inadequate and often excessively rigid regarding the extreme fluidity and fragility of the statutes and concrete situations we are dealing with, we aim at characterize the function of Istanbul metropolitan area in the international system of migrations, mobilities and circulations. In this respect, various models are successively drawn and articulated, that are allowing to sum up and express these functions: the international trading post (in a both formal and informal matter), the hub, the lock and the dead-end. Behind these models, many paths and strategies and many ways of using Istanbul are underlined. In so doing, the Istanbul case, witch can be described as the most important core in the so called Anatolian corridor, just located at the warm contact between desired and undesired worlds, leads us to take again into account the formating role of metropolitan dimension in the complex system of international migrations. In short, being an unequal resources place for migrants almost at a regional level- and a dense switch point of many networks, Istanbul can be characterized as a commutator witch is continuously transforming and reshaping the various migrants flows. |

| Summary, etc. | Estambul : el mostrador, el hub, la esclusa y el impasse. Funciones en el sistema migratorio internacional. Rechazando las categorías dominantes (como la de inmigrante regular o irregular), demasiado rígidas habida cuenta de la fragilidad de sus estatutos, el artículo trata de caracterizar la función de la metrópolis de Estambul en el sistema actual de migraciones, movilidades y circulaciones internacionales. Diversas figuras son abordadas permitiendo tipificar dichas funciones: la figura del mostrador, la del hub, la de la esclusa y la del impasse. Detrás de estas figuras se perfilan trayectorias y estrategias, así como modos de instalación en Estambul muy diferentes. El caso de Estambul, punto fuerte del corredor de Anatolia, interfaz entre mundos deseados y mundos huidos, incita a reconsiderar el rol estructurante del hecho metropolitano en la economía compleja de las movilidades internacionales. Centro de recursos y nudo de redes con múltiples dimensiones, Estambul funciona como un conmutador, transformando, recalificando y reorientando los flujos continuamente. |
