| Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse les relations entre intégration et pratiques transnationales des migrants. Il s’appuie sur une étude des pratiques de développement mise en œuvre par les organisations villageoises expatriées de trois groupes immigrés : les Kabyles algériens et Chleuhs marocains en France, ainsi que les Panjabis indiens en Grande-Bretagne. Il apparaît que les participants à ces projets utilisent leur implication au sein des associations communautaires pour redonner un sens à leur identité de villageois expatriés. Toutefois, l’effectivité de cet engagement dépend de leur capacité à trouver les ressources financières et techniques et donc de leur intégration économique, sociale et politique dans les sociétés d’accueil et de départ. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper analyses the relations between the transnational practices of migrants and their integration. This work draws on a study of development projects carried out in origin villages by North African Berber hometown organisations in France (Algerian Kabyles and Moroccan Chleuhs) and North Indian Panjabis in the UK. The migrants committed to development projects use their involvement in expatriated hometown organisations to give meaning to their migration and their identity of expatriated villagers. However, the efficacy of their commitment hinges upon their ability to find financial and technical resources and thereby upon their social, economic and political integration in host and sending societies. |

| Summary, etc. | El presente artículo analiza las relaciones entre integración y prácticas transnacionales de personas migrantes. El artículo se basa en un estudio de las prácticas de desarrollo establecidas por las organizaciones de comunidades rurales expatriadas de tres grupos inmigrantes: los Cabilios argelinos y los Chleuhs marroquíes en Francia así como los Panjabis indios en Gran Bretaña. Es constatable que los participantes en estos proyectos utilizan su implicación en el seno de asociaciones comunitarias para dar sentido a su identidad ligada a su lugar de origen. En cualquier caso, la efectividad de tal compromiso depende de su capacidad para encontrar los recursos financieros y técnicos y, en suma, a su capacidad de integración social económica y política en las sociedades de acogida y de origen. |
