| Summary, etc. | RésuméIl s’agit ici de marquer le point nodal où se rencontrent le malaise dans la recherche et le malaise de la culture, soit l’articulation critique entre norme et symptôme. La conjoncture idéologique de « normalisation », mixtant le contrôle social et la pseudo-évaluation thérapeutique, convoque à nous ressaisir de la question : qu’en est-il du « normal » en psychanalyse ? Le primat du symptôme qui fonde la clinique psychanalytique ne doit pas faire méconnaître la dialectique serrée instaurée : d’une part à l’intérieur de la métapsychologie où la dérivation du « modèle normal » de l’entité pathologique en permet l’intelligibilité, ce qui fonde la recherche clinique ; d’autre part entre production du symptôme et niveau de répression pulsionnelle – le symptôme se formant au point de discordance structural de la satisfaction du sujet à l’interdit fondant l’économie de la jouissance sociale. Cela permet de donner sa portée critique à l’affirmation freudienne que « la santé ne se laisse définir que métapsychologiquement ». Cela montre du même coup la portée de l’anthropologie psychanalytique pour cerner la posture culturelle de la psychanalyse, comme acte et savoir. |

| Summary, etc. | This article aims at identifying the nodal point where malaise in research meets with malaise in culture, in other words, identifying the critical articulation of norm and symptom. The ideological conjuncture of ‘normalisation’, which combines elements, both of social overseeing and therapeutic pseudo-assessment begs a question – what is ‘normal’ in psychoanalysis ? The primary importance given to the symptom at the basis of psychoanalytical clinical practice should not lead us to overlook the tense dialectics set up here. On the one hand, within metapsychology we have that place where the pathological entity veers away from the ‘normal model’ and thus, in clinical research, we can work on understanding that entity. On the other hand, between the production of the symptom and the repressed drives, we have the discordant zone in which the symptom appears where the satisfaction of the subject conflicts with interdictions and with the economy of social jouissance. This shows how important Freud’s words are when he writes, ‘health can only be defined from the metapsychological stance’. It also shows how far-reaching psychoanalytical anthropology can be in allowing us to understand the cultural position of psychoanalysis as both a form of action and knowledge. |
