| Summary, etc. | Cet article étudie dans le cadre d’un modèle d’équilibre partiel à deux pays, le Nord et le Sud, les effets du changement de localisation des entreprises dans un contexte de concurrence internationale et imparfaite. Nous considérons deux technologies de production, une technologie relativement propre et une technologie relativement sale, et nous déterminons comment le type de technologie utilisée par les entreprises qui délocalisent leurs activités de production affecte les impacts des délocalisations sur le bien-être social. Nous supposons qu’il existe une entreprise relativement sale immobile située dans le Sud et deux entreprises mobiles situées dans le Nord : une entreprise relativement propre et une entreprise relativement sale. Cet article démontre que la délocalisation d’une entreprise relativement sale par rapport à celle d’une entreprise relativement propre est plus néfaste pour l’environnement, meilleure pour les consommateurs dans le Nord et meilleure pour les profits réalisés par les entreprises dans le Nord.Classification JEL : L13, Q53, Q58. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper develops a simple partial equilibrium model with two regions, North and South, to fathom the effects of firms’ relocation in a context of international and imperfect competition. Two different production technologies are considered, a relatively clean technology and a dirty one, and the effects of relocation according to the kind of technology used by the relocated firms are determined. We consider one immobile dirty firm located in the South and two mobile firms located in the North: one relatively clean and one dirty firm. This paper demonstrates that the offshoring of a dirty firm as compared to the offshoring of a clean firm is worse for the environment, better for northern consumers, and better for the domestic profits. |
