| Summary, etc. | En s’appuyant sur des données récoltées durant des terrains de recherche ethnographiques conduits entre 2016 et 2018, cet article s’intéresse au rôle des intermédiaires issus des communautés migrantes dans la mise en œuvre des retours volontaires de l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) depuis le Maroc. L’article explore plus précisément les héritages coloniaux et les effets contrastés de cette forme singulière d’intermédiation dans le contexte des migrations. Pour ce faire, il développe le concept d’« intermédiation indigène » en faisant dialoguer données empiriques, études migratoires et travaux historiques sur l’intermédiation coloniale. L’article interroge alors l’« indigénéité » des intermédiaires vis-à-vis de leur public cible et met en lumière les conditions d’émergence de cette forme d’intermédiation, les dynamiques de catégorisation et d’identification racialisées qui la sous-tendent, ainsi que la diversité des pratiques qui en résultent. |

| Summary, etc. | Drawing on data collected during ethnographic fieldwork carried out between 2016 and 2018, this paper deals with the role of intermediaries from migrant communities in the implementation of voluntary returns run by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) from Morocco. More precisely, the paper explores the colonial legacies and contrasting effects of this peculiar form of intermediation in the context of migrations. It develops the concept of “indigenous intermediation” by putting into dialogue empirical data, migration studies, and historical works on colonial intermediation. In so doing, the article questions the “indigeneity” of intermediaries in relation to their target audience. It further sheds light on the conditions of emergence of this form of intermediation, as well as its underlying dynamics of racialised categorisation and identification. Finally, it highlights the diversity of practices resulting from indigenous intermediation. |

| Summary, etc. | A partir de datos recogidos durante trabajos de campo etnográficos realizados entre 2016 y 2018, este artículo se interesa al papel que tienen los intermediarios pares de las comunidades migrantes en la implementación de los retornos voluntarios de la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM) desde Marruecos. Más precisamente, el artículo explora el legado colonial y los efectos contrastados de esta forma singular de intermediación en el contexto la migración. Desarrolla el concepto de «intermediación indígena» combinando datos empíricos, estudios sobre migraciones y estudios históricos sobre la intermediación colonial. El artículo cuestiona la «indigenidad» de los intermediarios con respecto a su público objetivo y arroja luz sobre las condiciones de emergencia de esta forma de intermediación, las dinámicas de categorización y de identificación racializadas que la subyacen, así como la diversidad de prácticas resultantes. |
