| Summary, etc. | Mon étude porte sur la problématique de l’enfermement par rapport à l’institution psychiatrique et à son évolution en France. La question de l’enfermement recouvre différents aspects. L’enfermement fonctionne en tant que plaque tournante ou bande de Moebius, car les murs des hôpitaux ne décident pas forcément du dedans et du dehors. La singularité du sujet par rapport à la maladie, à son existence et à son être au monde est en jeu. À travers des axes de recherche différents (linguistique, historique, philosophique et clinique), l’objectif de cet article est d’interroger le rapport entre l’institution psychiatrique et le sujet, à partir d’une histoire singulière : l’histoire d’Antonin Artaud. Situé dans un moment historique précis, Artaud est témoin, à son insu, des importants changements qui se préparent dans les années à venir. Il est témoin de sa reconstruction à travers son propre délire, son maniement de la lettre et de l’écriture jusqu’à sa solution singulière de se faire « un corps clos », immortel. Mais il est témoin aussi d’un moment précis de la psychiatrie qui s’interroge par rapport à son statut de lieu séparé, question qui demeure cruciale encore aujourd’hui. |

| Summary, etc. | This work deals with the question of confinement in psychiatric institutions and their evolution in France. The issue of confinement encompasses different aspects. Confinement functions as a focal point or a Moebius strip because hospital walls do not necessarily define what is inside and outside. The subject’s singularity is at stake, as far as their illness, existence and being in the world are concerned. Through different (linguistic, historical, philosophical and clinical) research perspectives, the aim of this paper is to question the relationship between subjects and the psychiatric institutions, from the perspective of Antonin Artaud’s particular history. Located in a precise historical moment, Artaud witnesses, unawares, the important modifications that will be accomplished later. In other words, he gives a testimony of his reconstruction through his own delirium, his use of language and writing and the specific solution he came up with through the invention of an immortal “enclosed body” for himself. Through his story, Artaud also testifies to a precise moment when psychiatry that started questioning its status of separate facilities, an issue that is still crucial today. |
