| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’objet de cette contribution est de proposer une grille d’analyse de la géographie de l’innovation des nouvelles entreprises de biotechnologies prenant en compte la diversité des modèles d’entreprise. Cette recherche s’appuie sur l’analyse comparée de soixante et une nouvelles entreprises de biotechnologies françaises et de leur cent vingt neuf fondateurs16. Quatre modèles d’entreprise sont différenciés, chacun reposant sur des compétences des équipes de fondateurs, des ressources mobilisées pour assurer la viabilité de leur projet et des géographies de l’innovation distinctes. |

| Summary, etc. | New companies of biotechnologies and geography of innovation, from the founders to their business modelsThis article proposes an analytical framework regarding the geography of innovation by Dedicated Biotechnology Firms. The framework is based on the comparison of 61 French DBF’s and their 129 founders. Four distinct business models are drawn from the empirical material. Each corresponds to a peculiar combination of : (1) distinctive technological and managerial competencies, (2) the resources mobilised as to maintain the viability of their business projects, (3) the location of the actors (individuals, organisations) involved.Classification JEL : L2, O3, R3. |
