Summary, etc. | RésuméL’article propose une analyse économique des choix de localisation des ménages et des activités. Le modèle standard de l’économie urbaine offre un premier cadre d’intelligibilité des arbitrages réalisés par les ménages. Il souffre cependant de limites qu’il convient de dépasser, en particulier en relâchant les hypothèses d’homogénéité des réseaux de transport, d’isotropie de l’espace et de localisation exogène des emplois au centre. La confrontation au réel des prédictions théoriques de ces modèles nécessite de mobiliser les outils de l’économétrie spatiale. Les estimations obtenues confirment les résultats théoriques. Elles permettent d’identifier les facteurs explicatifs à l’œuvre au niveau des aires urbaines françaises pour les quatre derniers recensements. |

Summary, etc. | Urban economics and spatial econometricsThe article addresses an economic analysis of the households and firms location choices. The standard model of urban economics offers an intelligibility framework of the households’ trade-off. But some hypothesis as the homogeneity of network, isotropy of space and exogenous location of firm in the center are strong and are exceeded with new models. Empirical tests of the predictions got deal us to use the spatial econometrics tools. The results confirm the theoretical results and identify the explanatory factors of French urban patterns for the last four censuses of population.Classification JEL : R14, R2, C29. |
