Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Spatial Mobility and wages of young workers An analysis by level of education Most studies on migrations point out that level of education is a major and determining function for migrations. They focus on the fact that a higher level of studies means more frequent spatial mobility is wages. Nevertheless, these results are closely linked to the estimation method and also on the choice of area’s mobility. Taking into account distances of French young workers, between local labor market at the end of their studies and local labor market of their job three years after leaving the education system in 1998, we were able to estimate, through original methods, the “real” impact of spatial mobility on wages, as a result of costs/benefits migration trade-off. The higher skilled do not get a positive wage return of migration, as they are competing on a national labor market. On the other hand is observed for less-skilled young workers obtain a positive wage return of migration. |
