| Summary, etc. | L’objectif de cet article est de réinterpréter la position des stations de sports d’hiver dans le cadre de la nouvelle organisation industrielle du séjour touristique en montagne. L’approche par les proximités géographique et organisée (TORRE et RALLET, 2005) permet de situer les stations de sports d’hiver selon la qualité de leur coordination à l’échelle globale et/ou locale. Cette approche peut s’avérer féconde pour expliquer les écarts de performance observés entre les stations de sports d’hiver. Une illustration empirique est fournie par quatre études de cas. |

| Summary, etc. | Proximities and inter-firm coordination : an empirical analysis of ski resorts’competitiveness This paper addresses the position of the ski resorts within the frame of the new integrated organisation of the moutaneous tourism industry. According to the approach of geographical and organised proximities (TORRE et RALLET, 2005), ski resorts are assessed according to the quality of their global and local arrangements. This approach appears to be useful to explain the performance gap between ski resorts. Four case studies give empirical evidence of different kinds of interactions and their consequences in terms of ski resorts’performance. |
