| Summary, etc. | Partant de la manière dont la lecture évolutionniste appréhende les innovations environnementales, le présent article tente d’esquisser la trajectoire environnementale de la viticulture en s’attachant aux comportements d’innovation des viticulteurs girondins. Les résultats de l’enquête menée auprès de ces viticulteurs font apparaître que leur problématique majeure concerne les nuisances environnementales et sanitaires découlant de l’utilisation des produits phytosanitaires alors que leur activité demeure dépendante de ces produits. Bien que circonscrite par le paradigme phytosanitaire, leur trajectoire environnementale met en évidence que les viticulteurs ont exploité certaines des marges de manœuvre existantes au sein de ce paradigme. Leur progression le long de cette trajectoire incrémentale ouvre sur des suggestions de pistes de politiques publiques palliant les insuffisances des incitations réglementaires. |

| Summary, etc. | Environmental trajectory in wine-growing : the example of Bordeaux-area vineyards Starting from the way evolutionism apprehends environmental innovations, the present paper tries to characterize their environmental trajectory by focusing on the innovative behavior of Bordeaux area vine growers. On the basis of the results of a questionnaire interviewing these actors, the paper shows that their main environmental question relates to the uses of pesticides, vine growing being in the same time strongly dependent on these products and fully integrated into the pesticides paradigm. The environmental trajectory of vine growers is incremental. As this trajectory is hampered by cognitive and economic obstacles, it is suggested that public policy-makers would do well to encourage collective action rather than attempting to enforce the current regulations. |
