| Summary, etc. | Le devenir professionnel des sportifs de haut niveau est souvent questionné dans les médias et fait l’objet d’une attention particulière des pouvoirs publics et des intéressés eux-mêmes. La pratique sportive à haut niveau implique un engagement total qui rend difficile la poursuite de ce que l’on appelle classiquement le double projet. Entre fantasme de réussites exceptionnelles et dénonciation de situations de précarité extrêmes, il convient de mener des études approfondies sur le sujet. Notre projet est d’analyser les parcours d’insertion d’ex-sportives et sportifs de haut niveau (SHN) à partir d’entretiens biographiques ( n = 61). Nous analysons les parcours d’insertion professionnelle qui lient les choix d’orientation d’étude, les diplômes acquis et les opportunités ou difficultés pour trouver son premier emploi. Nous mettons notamment en évidence que ces parcours se caractérisent par de fortes contraintes, la limitation de l’incertitude des choix dans les périodes de transition et l’allongement des parcours, mais aussi par des opportunités au travers des situations facilitantes qui sont offertes aux SHN dans l’accès à l’emploi à condition cependant que celui-ci se situe dans l’univers sportif. |

| Summary, etc. | The professional future of high-level athletes (elite athletes) is often questioned in the media and receives special attention from public authorities and the athletes themselves. The practice of sports at the highest level requires total commitment, making it challenging to pursue what is commonly referred to as the “double project”. Amid fantasies of exceptional successes and denunciations of extreme precarity, it is appropriate to conduct in-depth studies on the subject. Our project aims to analyze the career paths of former high-level athletes based on biographical interviews (n=61). We examine their career paths in relation to the study orientation chosen, the degrees acquired, and the opportunities or difficulties they faced in finding their first jobs. We highlight in particular that these paths are characterized by significant constraints, limitations due to uncertainty concerning their choices during transition periods, and the continuation of their careers. However, they are also special opportunities that facilitate their employment, provided that it is within the field of sports. |
