520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This article examines readers’ frequentation of and participation on political blogs in France. Although many studies on blogs, especially in the USA (e.g. Bloom 2003; Drezner and Farrell 2004), consider their – indirect – influence in public debate, via a relationship-based approach, few have examined their frequentation statistics. After highlighting the importance of examining the question of frequentation of political blogs, and hence of their direct influence today, we show that they draw a very small audience in France. Yet, our approach also shows that micro-spaces of discussion can appear in the “comments” sections of blogs, which points to an important variable: the blogger’s position in the political space. |
