Summary, etc. | Le crowdfunding se distingue d’autres modes de financement en ligne en raison du rôle des communautés qui se construisent autour des projets. Rares sont les études qui s’intéressent à l’impact de ces dynamiques participatives sur la qualité des projets finaux produits à l’issue des campagnes. Pour pallier ces lacunes, notre papier s’appuie sur une étude de 40 médias en ligne et de 1200 articles publiés par ces titres, issus des deux principales plateformes de crowdfunding en France (KissKissBanBank et Ulule). Nous montrons que les campagnes de crowdfunding journalistique peuvent avoir un impact ambivalent sur les projets produits ‒ un effet négatif sur la diversité de l’information et un impact positif sur la richesse, la profondeur et la lisibilité de l’information publiée. |

Summary, etc. | Crowdfunding differs from other types of online funding because of the role of the communities that form around projects. Very few studies have examined the impact of these participative dynamics on the quality of the final projects that emerge from the campaigns. To fill this gap, this paper draws on a study of 40 online media and 1,200 articles published by these media, funded through the two main crowdfunding platforms in France: KissKissBanBank and Ulule. It shows that journalistic crowdfunding campaigns can have a mixed impact on the projects produced: a negative impact on the diversity of the information, and a positive impact on its richness, depth and readability. |
