| Summary, etc. | La médiatisation des attentats du 13 novembre 2015 à Paris a constitué, pour BFM TV, un exercice inédit et une séquence exemplaire des libertés et contraintes pesant sur l’information en continu. Cet article, fruit d’une recherche empirique sur la nuit et la matinée ayant suivi les attentats dans l’édition spéciale sur cette chaîne, a pour objet de questionner la mise en récit médiatique d’un événement hors norme se produisant dans un contexte où l’offre de l’information en continu et en direct a considérablement augmenté en France. Confrontés à un chaos informationnel sur le terrain et à une absence d’image, les journalistes ont improvisé en direct un récit mêlant étroitement éléments factuels et tension émotionnelle. Pour pallier la carence d’information et le manque d’explications certifiées, ils ont été conduits, du moins en partie, à faire endosser le rôle de reporter par les témoins de proximité et les victimes. Les experts convoqués en nombre sur les plateaux de la chaîne apporteront éclairages et décryptages sans pour autant installer tout de suite les controverses qui vont surgir ultérieurement dans l’espace public. |

| Summary, etc. | The media coverage of the 13 November 2015 attacks in Paris was an unprecedented exercise for BFM TV, and exemplified the sequence of freedoms and constraints weighing on continuous news coverage. This article is the fruit of empirical research on the night and morning following the attacks in the special broadcast on this channel. It investigates the media coverage of an extraordinary event occurring in a context where the live and continuous news coverage offer in France has increased considerably. Faced with informational chaos in the field and a lack of images, journalists improvised a live narrative that closely blended factual elements with emotional tension. To make up for the lack of information and certified explanations, they made local witnesses and victims, at least partially, take on the role of reporters. The large number of experts invited to the channel’s sets provided insights and interpretations, without immediately introducing the controversies that were to arise later on in the public space. |
