| Summary, etc. | Le philosophe et militant libertaire Cornelius Castoriadis a travaillé à l’OECE puis à l’OCDE entre 1948 et 1970, année où sort le rapport officiel « La croissance de la production 1960-1980 : expérience, perspectives et problèmes de politique économique », qu’il a coordonné en tant que directeur de la division des Études de croissance, des statistiques et des comptes nationaux. Les éléments les plus originaux de ce rapport se trouvent dans l’introduction et dans la conclusion, dont nous proposons une synthèse avec d’amples extraits afin de mettre en lumière la perméabilité de l’organisation aux débats intellectuels de son époque. Face au triomphe des politiques de régulation de la croissance, le rapport soulève des problématiques d’ordre social et insiste sur l’opportunité de développer de nouveaux indicateurs. Ces préoccupations sociales résonnent avec la réflexion philosophique conduite par Castoriadis depuis les années 1950. |

| Summary, etc. | Philosopher and socialist activist Cornelius Castoriadis worked for the OEEC and later for the OECD between 1948 and 1970. As director of Statistics, National Accounts, and Growth Studies, he coordinated the official report “The Growth of Output 1960-1980 : Retrospect, Prospect and Problems Of Policy.” We offer a synthesis of the most original elements of this report, mostly taken from its introduction and its conclusion, in order to shed light on the organization’s receptiveness to the intellectual debates of that time. In the context of the success of growth regulation policies, the report highlights social issues and insists on the necessity of developing alternative indicators. These social concerns have been present in Castoriadis’s writings since the 1950s. |
