| Summary, etc. | Cette étude a pour but d’initier une réflexion sur l’impact des caractéristiques du Président du Conseil d’Administration (PCA) sur l’efficacité du conseil d’administration (CA). À l’aide de la régression logistique binomiale, nous avons testé l’influence de quatorze prédicteurs de cette efficacité. Aux termes des analyses, cinq variables seulement ont significativement expliqué ce phénomène. En concluant au plafonnement de la durée de fonction des PCA à dix ans, et à la modération de leur nomination par les pouvoirs publics, les résultats obtenus encouragent la refondation du gouvernement d’entreprise dans le contexte du Cameroun. |

| Summary, etc. | Factors of Effectiveness of the Board of Directors : Exploring the Characteristics of the Chairman of the BoardThis study is aimed at initiating discussion on the impact characteristics of the Chairman of the board of directors on the effectiveness of the Board of Directors (BOD). Using the binomial logistic regression, we tested the influence of fourteen predictors of effectiveness. Under analysis, only five variables significantly explained this phenomenon. In coping the duration of the Chairman of the Board of Directors position to ten years and, in moderation of their appointment by the government, the results encourage the overhaul of corporate governance in the context of Cameroon. |

| Summary, etc. | Este estudio tenía como objetivo iniciar una reflexión sobre el impacto de las características del Presidente del Consejo de Administración sobre la eficacia del Consejo de Administración (C.A.). Con la ayuda de la regresión binomial lógica, hemos evaluado la influencia de catorce predictores de esta eficacia. Al final de los análisis, cinco variables únicamente han explicado significativamente este fenómeno. Concluyendo que la duración máxima de la función de los Presidentes de Consejos de Administración sea de diez años y la moderación de su nombramiento por el Gobierno, los resultados obtenidos motivan la refundición del gobierno de las empresas en el contexto de Camerún. |
