Summary, etc. | À travers une étude qualitative s’appuyant sur la population des jeunes à faible capital scolaire (JFCS), nous avons constaté que les subordonnés pouvaient adopter des comportements qualifiés de contre-productifs par leurs supérieurs hiérarchiques du fait d’un leadership « dysfonctionnel ». Un leadership est défini comme « dysfonctionnel » lorsqu’un supérieur hiérarchique par incompétence et/ou par manque d’intérêt blesse de manière non intentionnelle ses subordonnés. Ce leadership « dysfonctionnel » est susceptible de générer chez les subordonnés un manque d’autonomie, du stress ou une injustice perçue, qui peuvent entraîner l’adoption de comportements contre-productifs. |

Summary, etc. | Based on a qualitative analysis of poorly educated young people (PEYP), we found that subordinate counter-productive workplace behaviors can be triggered by the “dysfunctional” supervision of their manager. “Dysfunctional” supervision is defined as a passive form of supervision, wherein a manager, due to his or her incompetence and/or lack of interest, unintentionally hurts his/her subordinates. This “dysfunctional” supervision is likely to generate subordinates’ lack of autonomy, stress and/or perceptions of injustice, which can then result in the adoption of deviant behaviors. |
