| Summary, etc. | En sciences sociales, l’étude de la connaissance porte de façon privilégiée sur le domaine scientifique et sa production. La médiatisation du sport ne bénéficie ordinairement pas du même prestige et est rarement perçue comme un domaine de la vie sociale où s’expriment la recherche de l’objectivité et de la correspondance aux faits. Mettant de côté ces présupposés, cet article propose d’examiner les pratiques d’objectivation d’un phénomène par sa représentation visuelle à travers la production d’un objet en apparence trivial : le révélateur de hors-jeu à la télévision.À partir de données vidéo collectées en régie lors de la réalisation de matches de football diffusés en direct, le propos s’appuie l’analyse des interactions entre techniciens en régie. Inspirée de l’analyse conversationnelle et de l’ethnométhodologie, la démarche s’attache notamment à mettre en lumière le lien mutuellement configurant et dynamique entre les modes d’apparition du hors-jeu en tant que phénomène, sa perception in situ par les participants et les descriptions verbales et visuelles qui en sont faites. |

| Summary, etc. | In the social sciences, the study of knowledge focuses largely on science and its production. The mediatization of sport does not usually benefit from the same prestige and is rarely perceived as an area of social life where the search for objectivity and correspondence to facts are expressed. Putting these assumptions aside, this article examines the practices of objectification of a phenomenon through its visual representation in the production of a seemingly trivial object: offside revealed on television.Based on video data collected in the control room during the production of live soccer matches, the article analyses interactions between technicians in the control room. Inspired by conversation analysis and ethnomethodology, the approach focuses on the mutually configuring and dynamic link between the modes of appearance of offside as a phenomenon, its perception in situ by the participants, and the verbal and visual descriptions of it. |
