| Summary, etc. | Notre article entend examiner les usages du site communautaire à destination des personnes asexuelles. L’examen détaillé des interfaces permet de saisir comment cohabitent au sein d’un même espace des outils aux caractéristiques relationnelles différentes. Nous constaterons ensuite que ces outils correspondent à des velléités différentes des utilisateurs qui aspirent pour certains à initier des relations purement amicales quand d’autres entendent mettre en place des relations amoureuses passant par des moments de rencontres physiques. Analysant les occasions de rencontres en face-à-face de certains utilisateurs, nous questionnerons l’émergence d’une norme relationnelle tacite. Ce qu’il s’agira en définitive de montrer, c’est la façon dont l’incertitude et l’indétermination relatives des interfaces et des usages répondent aux incertitudes entourant l’asexualité elle-même tant d’un point de vue identitaire que d’un point de vue social et relationnel. Les usages des sites pour asexuels constituant alors une étape d’un parcours souvent complexe de recherche sur soi. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines the uses of a community website for asexual people. A detailed examination of the interfaces allows us to understand how tools with different relational characteristics can function within the same space. We note that these tools correspond to different desires of the users, some of whom wish to initiate purely friendly relationships, while others hope to establish romantic relationships through physical encounters. By analysing some users’ face-to-face interactions, we consider the emergence of a tacit relational norm. What we ultimately show are the ways in which the uncertainty and relative indeterminacy of the interfaces and uses correspond to the uncertainties surrounding asexuality itself, both from an identity point of view and from a social and relational point of view. Asexual people’s uses of the websites thus constitute a stage on an often complex path of research on themselves. |
