| Summary, etc. | RésuméAprès avoir rappelé les différents travaux sociologiques et de sciences politiques qui se sont intéressés ces vingt dernières années au militantisme maghrébin en France, et avoir proposé une définition sociologique du militantisme, cet article s’interroge sur les motivations qui incitent les jeunes d’origine maghrébine en France à s’engager dans la vie politique, et sur le sens qu’ils donnent à cette action politique. Après avoir rappelé brièvement un certain nombre de théories de l’action collective, il analyse le militantisme qui mobilise à la fois des points de vue individualistes et collectifs. Puis, il expose une typologie des causes du militantisme des jeunes d’origine maghrébine élaborée à partir de trois critères : l’événement, la situation, le réseau d’interconnaissance, et présente ainsi trois types de militantisme observés lors de l’étude : le militantisme événementiel de carrière, le militantisme situationnel de passage et le militantisme d’inter connaissance de carrière. |

| Summary, etc. | Bearing in mind the different sociological works and political sciences that have been interested in North African militancy in France over the past twenty years, and after having proposed a sociological definition of militancy, this article examines the motivations that incite young North Africans in France to engage in politics, and to the meaning they give to this political action. After briefly recalling a certain number of theories on collective action, it analyses the militancy that mobilizes both individualistic and collective points of view. It then exposes a typology of the causality of militancy in young people of North African descent starting with these three criterions: the triggering event, the situation and the inter-acquaintance network, and presents three kinds of militancy observed during this study: career event-driven militancy, occasional situational militancy and career inter-acquaintance militancy. |
