| Summary, etc. | Alors que l’éthique sexuelle et familiale postconciliaire souffre d’un excès de rigorisme et de tutiorisme (voir RETM 304), différents événements viennent l’ébranler. D’abord la crise systémique des abus sexuels commis par des personnes en responsabilité dans l’Église, sans que leurs supérieurs sur place ou à Rome ne s’en indignent, devient un scandale dans et en dehors de l’Église. Ensuite l’évolution participative à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de l’Église. Enfin la publication en 2016 de l’exhortation apostolique Amoris laetitia, renforcée par son format synodal d’un style nouveau. Tout cela devient l’occasion d’un tournant décisif non seulement pour la pastorale du mariage, mais aussi pour l’ecclésiologie, l’éthique et la théologie morale. |

| Summary, etc. | Sexual and family ethics in question, part two: an impetus for changeAlthough postconciliar sexual and family ethics suffer from an excess of rigorism and tutiorism (see RETM 304), various elements are starting to provoke a change. In the first place, the systematic crisis of acts of sexual abuse perpetrated by persons occupying positions of responsibility in the Church, without provoking the indignation of their immediate superiors or of Roman authorities, has become a scandal both within the Church and in the broader society. Another impetus for change is the evolution of new participative models both within and outside the Church. Finally, the publication of the apostolic exhortation Amoris laetitia in 2016 served to reinforce a new style by its synodal format. Taken together, these developments have brought about a decisive turning point not only for the pastoral treatment of marriage but also for ecclesiology, ethics, and moral theology. |
