Macron au collège des Bernardins le 9 avril 2018 devant les autorités religieuses catholiques de France peut être lu dans une perspective d’éthique théologique. Il développe sa vision d’un humanisme réaliste en quête de sens et dans une démarche de dialogue fait d’humilité entre l’État et l’Église. Cette vision fait écho à la manière dont l’Église conçoit aujourd’hui son action au sein de la société civile mais elle ne réussit pas toutefois à intégrer la place particulière de la charité dans la vie du croyant. Un discernement est toujours à opérer en fonction des situations concrètes pour articuler l’idéal porté par la charité et ce qu’il est possible de mettre en oeuvre réellement de manière juste. |

| Summary, etc. | The speech delivered by President E. Macron at the Collège des Bernardins before the leaders of the Catholic Church in France on 9 April 2018 can be read from the perspective of theological ethics. In this speech, Macron develops a vision of a realist humanism in search of meaning and engaged in a process of dialogue between Church and State based on humility. Though this vision echoes the way in which the Church understands its contemporary action within civil society, it fails to integrate the principle of charity that holds a particular place in the life of the religious believer. Discernment must always be exercised in light of concrete situations in order to articulate an ideal carried forth by charity which can be practically implemented in a just way. |
