| Summary, etc. | Le « retour » des vertus en éthique théologique est un signe positif, car il est indispensable de réfléchir non seulement aux actes que nous posons, mais aussi aux personnes qui les posent au fil de leur vie. Entre vertus cardinales et théologales, ces dernières auront la priorité : elles représentent le coeur de la vie chrétienne. Que faire face à la rupture très profonde de la transmission de ces trois réalités ? Comment et où nos contemporains, y compris les jeunes, goûteront-ils la beauté et le sens qu’elles portent ? Ayant récusé tout moralisme, toute dénonciation de la « sécularisation » et de le « christianophobie », les chrétiens doivent toujours à nouveau axer leur témoignage sur l’Évangile du Christ, qui éveille en nous l’amour, l’espérance et la foi. |

| Summary, etc. | The “return” of the virtues in theological ethics is a positive development, for it is essential to reflect not only on the actions that we take but also on the persons who take them over the course of their lives. In the contest between the cardinal and theological virtues, the latter must have priority because they represent the heart of the Christian life. What should we do in the face of the profound rupture in the transmission of these three realities, and how and where will our contemporaries – particularly young people – discover the beauty and the meaning contained by these same realities? Having rejected any kind of moralism and the denunciation of “secularisation” and “Christianophobia”, Christians must once again focus their witness on the Gospel of Christ which awakens in us the virtues of faith, hope, and love. |
