| Summary, etc. | RésuméLe présent article a pour objet le traitement par trois quotidiens romands de la grève menée durant le premier trimestre 2006 par les ouvriers de l’entreprise métallurgique jurassienne (CH) Swissmetal à Reconvilier. Il entend montrer sous quelles modalités un événement possédant une certaine extension temporelle est susceptible de susciter du suspense et de prendre la forme d’un feuilleton médiatique, que l’on peut définir comme un récit morcelé et raconté au jour le jour. Notre analyse met en évidence les marques textuelles de suture entre les parties disjointes du feuilleton ainsi que les marques de rupture qui définissent son unité et les frontières de son intrigue, progressivement constituée. Notre démarche nécessitant l’utilisation dans le champ de l’analyse des médias de concepts tels que feuilleton ou intrigue, qui ont essentiellement été forgés dans le champ de la théorie littéraire. Nous débattrons par ailleurs des implications épistémologiques et méthodologiques d’un tel déplacement. |

| Summary, etc. | This article focuses on the reporting by three local newspapers of the strike in the factory of Swissmetal in Reconvilier (Jura, Switzerland) at the beginning of 2006. It aims to undercover the modalities in which an event that occurs over a certain time span can generate suspense in the public and take the configuration of a serialise story, with a daily instalment. Our analysis underlines the textual marks of suture between the disjoint parts of the serial story as well as the marks of rupture which delineate the unity of the serial story in the continuum of social events and the frontiers of its plot. Our approach requires the use of concepts such as serial story and plot to proceed to the analysis of the media which were mainly developed and theorized in literary studies. Epistemological and methodological implications of this transfer will also be discussed. |
