| Summary, etc. | People who are forced to migrate lead us on an “ethical journey” that requires us to revisit with them the foundations of shared responsibility and the conditions for a social life seen as a community. There can be no ethics in this area without an “understanding” attitude: how did they get there? How did we get here? The work of responsible thinking in social ethics calls for an analysis of particular histories and the interweaving of local and global histories. It highlights, among other things, the importance of economic life, which opens the door to rights and makes it possible to participate in a shared history. Working together revives the notion of the “common good” that underpins the value of solidarity, which is itself the basis of the social contract. Recounting the singular history of migrants ceaselessly activates and reactivates the ethical conscience that recognises these men, women and children as “people” with whom we are allowed to hope… |

| Summary, etc. | Les personnes qui sont contraintes de vivre la migration nous font vivre un « chemin éthique » qui nous fait revisiter, avec elles, les ancrages de la responsabilité partagée tout comme les conditions d’une vie sociale, pensée comme communauté. Pas d’éthique, en la matière, sans attitude « compréhensive » : comment sont-ils arrivés là ? Comment en sommes-nous arrivés là ? Le travail de la pensée responsable, en éthique sociale, en appelle à l’analyse des histoires particulières et de l’imbrication des histoires locale, et mondiale. Il met en lumière, entre autres composantes, l’importance de la vie économique qui ouvre aux droits et rend possible une participation à l’histoire commune. Travailler ensemble réactualise, en l’occurrence, la notion de « bien commun » qui fonde la valeur de la solidarité, elle-même à la base du contrat social. Le récit de l’histoire singulière des migrants active et réactive sans cesse la conscience éthique qui considère ces hommes, ces femmes et ces enfants comme des « personnes » avec qui il nous est permis d’espérer… |
