| Summary, etc. | L’article analyse la méséthicisation contemporaine du débat public : une référence insatisfaisante à l’éthique dans la discussion des enjeux sociaux. L’hypothèse mise en avant est que cette méséthicisation résulte d’une carence argumentative. Elle est examinée à propos de la qualification éthique donnée à des questions en débat et du recours à des justifications morales dans la défense de positions qu’elles soient non évaluatives, non morales ou morales. Une démonstration est développée qui fait ressortir la déficience du point de vue argumentatif de chacun de ces usages de l’éthique dans le débat public. Est à la suite abordée la question soulevée par le diagnostic posant que la méséthicisation du débat est produite par une carence argumentative : celle du rapport de l’éthique à la rationalité. À ce sujet, il est proposé d’explorer la perspective ouverte par la théorie de la raison en action de John Searle suivant laquelle les obligations de tenir ses promesses et de dire la vérité ne relèvent pas d’abord d’une incitation morale, mais par la prise en compte d’une desire-independant reason, d’une contrainte imposée par la structure logique des actes de discours. |

| Summary, etc. | The article analyzes the contemporary mesethicization of public debate: an unsatisfactory reference to ethics in the discussion of social issues. The hypothesis put forward is that this mesethicization results from an argumentative deficiency. It is examined in relation to the ethical qualification given to questions in debate and the use of moral justifications in the defense of positions that are non-evaluative, non-moral or moral. A demonstration is developed which highlights the deficiency from the argumentative point of view of each of these references to ethics in the public debate. This is followed by the question raised by the diagnosis that the mesethicisation of the debate is produced by a lack of argumentation: that of the relationship between ethics and rationality. In this regard, it is proposed to explore the perspective opened by John Searle’s theory of reason in action according to which the obligations to keep promises and tell the truth are not primarily a moral incentive, but, by taking into account a desire-independent reason, a constraint imposed by the logical structure of speech acts. |
