Summary, etc. | RésuméCet article analyse les effets de la déconcentration du système scolaire français sur les inspections générales de l’éducation dans une perspective de sociologie de l’action publique. Il interroge, sur la base de matériaux rassemblés dans le cadre de trois recherches successives et d’une approche par séquences historiques, l’ampleur et les modalités du changement institutionnel que connaissent ces inspections, et à travers elles les recompositions actuelles de la régulation centrale de l’école. Il montre que ces inspections n’ont pas connu de repositionnement institutionnel majeur mais se sont transformées de manière évolutionnaire et graduelle selon les configurations d’action publique. |

Summary, etc. | Abstract — Changing Scale? The General Inspectorates of Education facing the devolution of the educational system — This article analyses the effects of the devolution of the French education system on the Education General Inspectorates. Based on a “public policy sociology” perspective, it uses data from three previous studies to question, through various historical sequences, the scope and modalities of the institutional change of these inspections and beyond them, the current transformations of the central regulation of the French education system. It shows that these bodies did not have to reposition themselves radically. They rather change gradually according to the policy configurations. |
