| Summary, etc. | L’adaptabilité est une notion centrale dans les représentations sociales et anthropologiques des sociétés du xxie siècle. Non seulement elle renvoie par connotation aux théories de l’évolution, mais elle constituerait également une obligation et/ou une qualité indispensable pour les individus, les groupes, les personnes morales ou encore les institutions, pour faire face aux grandes incertitudes contemporaines. Perçue comme une compétence transversale incontournable, elle est présente dans l’appareil normatif d’apprentissage, de production et d’insertion professionnelle. Cet article s’appuie sur une revue de littérature académique et professionnelle autour de l’adaptabilité et confronte un modèle théorique provisoire des différentes dimensions de l’adaptabilité aux données issues de l’utilisation d’une plateforme numérique mise en place par une association aidant les jeunes issus des milieux défavorisés à leur réussite académique et leur insertion professionnelle. Il s’agit de saisir dans quelle mesure les représentations symboliques de l’adaptabilité sont socialement différenciées par les caractéristiques des individus et des expériences, et de contribuer sociologiquement au questionnement éthique des dimensions de la reconnaissance des épreuves d’adaptation. |

| Summary, etc. | Adaptability is a key notion in the social and anthropological representations of 21st century societies. Not only does it refer by connotation to the theories of evolution, but it would also constitute an obligation and/or an essential quality for individuals, groups, legal persons or even institutions, faced with the great contemporary uncertainties. Perceived as an essential soft skill, it is present in the normative apparatus of learning, production and professional integration. This article is based on a review of academic and professional literature on adaptability and compares a provisional theoretical model of the different dimensions of adaptability with data from the use of a digital platform set up by an association helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to their academic success and their professional integration. This is a question of understanding to what extent the symbolic representations of adaptability are socially differentiated by the characteristics of individuals and experiences, and of contributing sociologically to the ethical questioning of the dimensions of the recognition of adaptation tests. |
