Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | How to reform the economy, politics and culture of a traditional Chinese society and change the relations among these three aspects accordingly. These questions dictate the path China took to become a modern nation. According to the authors the strategy used by China to learn from the modern Western world was to promote the modernization of the economic, political and cultural capacity through industrial modernization. Focused on this goal, the learning from Western institutions and ideology was considerably adaptive, reformative and inclusive. From the perspective of developing China’s own culture, the nature of China’s modernization lies in the question of how to integrate the traditions of the Chinese culture with the modern Western culture to create a new culture form.JEL Classification : N45, O53, P21, P30, Z10, Z13. |
