Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The family business has had a great influence on the German and international markets. Even if researchers could not agree on the definition of the family business, its most important characteristic has appeared clearly with the Three-Circle Model and the theory of coevolution. The relationship between family and enterprise within a family business has to be analyzed dynamically and historically. In the increasing globalization process in the second half of the 20th century, the family was faced with an unprecedented challenge from abroad and a more complex situation than the non-family business. Ownership and control naturally became a kind of classical film like a family film. Indeed, the internationalization of the family business is exactly a rebuilding process in the modern sense. As for the relationship between the weight of family businesses and the degree of and internationalization, no unanimous conclusion can be drawn. In the Federal Republic of Germany, there were big differences between the impacts of globalization on large family enterprises and small and medium family enterprises. The small and medium-sized family business adopted various strategies to meet the challenge of globalization. For them, globalization meant opportunity, pressure or even irrelevant background. By contrast, several common trends were found in the large family firms. Since the 1970s, they have been opening gradually to personnel and capital outside the family and changing their ownership structure and legal organizational form, in order to respond to the rapidly changing global market.JEL Classification : I26, N24, N64, N84
