| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa conception que développa François Guizot des complots, brigues et autres attentats, dans un texte publié en 1821, se veut proche d’une science de gouvernement. Science qui, à la manière du caméralisme allemand, prétendait fondre la philosophie politique et les préceptes de l’action administrative en une sorte de savoir d’État destiné à incarner une autre rationalité sur et dans la gestion de l’ordre public. Un travail d’autant plus intéressant qu’il inspirera la loi du 23 avril 1832 et que son auteur sera lui-même confronté, comme ministre de Louis-Philippe, à des mouvements insurrectionnels qui mettront à rude épreuve cette conception de la science du pouvoir. |

| Summary, etc. | In a text published in 1821, François Guizot’s reflected on plots, intrigues and other criminal attempts in order to approximate a science of government. Like german cameralism, this science was meant to blend political philosophy and the precepts of administrative action into a kind of State knowledge which would embody a new form of rationality about and within the management of public order. Interestingly, this work was to inspire the statute of the 23 rd of April 1832 and its author, who had become a Minister of King Louis-Philippe, was to confront insurrectional movements challenging his conception of a science of power. |
