520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This paper aims at clarifying what the concept of field, and more specifically of “bureaucratic field”, brings to the understanding of European institutions and policies. What exactly does this concept mean? How does it differ from or relate to other theories? And above all, what does it contribute to the understanding of the European Union (EU), both from the point of view of its concrete processes, and of the social structure that gives shape and meaning to the inseparable human and organisational network that is the European administration? To answer, the purpose is to discuss the concept but also to exemplify it on the basis of a series of trends that have been running through the European administration, both over the medium term of the last 25 years and more specifically since the opening of the European elections in 2015. |
