Ils définissent le sadomasochisme, le distinguent d’autres modes d’activité ou de souffrance, expliquent son rôle dans les sphères culturelle, sociale et familiale et traitent de cette composante psychique tant chez le patient que chez l’analyste. |

They employ Freud’s developmental method which consists of establishing the epigenesis of sadomasochism, and attain a model with two systems of self-regulation, one open, characterised by competence, the other closed, sadomasochistic and all-powerful. They define sadomasochism, distinguish it from other modes of activity or suffering, explain its role in cultural, social and family circles and consider this psychic component in both the patient and the analyst. |
