| Summary, etc. | La Screen Actors Guild face à la mondialisation et aux nouveaux médias (1950-2008) Fondée en 1933 pour défendre les intérêts des acteurs américains, la Screen Actors Guild (SAG) ne cesse de s’adapter aux mutations technologiques et économiques de l’industrie du cinéma pour établir des conventions collectives adaptées au système de production. Avec l’essor de la télévision, du câble, de la vidéo et du DVD, ce syndicat a obtenu le paiement aux acteurs des droits pour l’exploitation des films sur ces supports. De même, l’explosion d’internet, des téléphones portables et d'autres appareils mobiles incite le syndicat des acteurs américains à revendiquer des droits pour la diffusion des films sur ces nouveaux vecteurs. En outre, la délocalisation de la production a conduit la SAG à étendre hors des États-Unis, les contraintes syndicales applicables sur le sol américain. Cet article analyse l’attitude de la SAG face aux effets de la mondialisation, aux nouveaux médias et à la grève des scénaristes américains de novembre 2007 à février 2008. |

| Summary, etc. | Established in 1933, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) protects its members’ rights in bargaining agreements which guarantee decent wages, safe working conditions, health care and pensions. The technological and economic mutations of the movie industry brought about by the new media have changed the basics. Globalization and the ever-increasing problem of “runaway” production led the actors to vote in 2001 the extension of the SAG contract to all English-speaking films shot outside of the United States. The paper analyzes the way SAG adjusts to the changing film industry. |
