De fait, il n’est pas decure psychanalytique où n’apparaissent des éléments de transfert latéral.La conduite de la cure implique de reconnaître et de ménager ces phénomènesde latéralisation qui sont des moyens d’aménager l’économie du transfert.L’absence de tout phénomène de latéralisation du transfert pourraitdéfinir le transfert passionnel. La notion de clivage du transfert, appliquéepar P. Greenacre aux analyses de formation, est transposable dans nombre desituations de la pratique clinique ordinaire. |

| Summary, etc. | The lateral worldReferences to lateral transferences are in fact scarce inpsychoanalytical literature and mostly to be found in the work of French authorsand in oral rather than published presentations. There are however very fewexamples of psychoanalytical treatment in which elements of lateral transferencedo not appear. The handling of treatment implies both recognising and dealingwith these phenomena of lateralisation, which are effectively a means ofgoverning the economy of the transference. The total absence of phenomena oftransference lateralisation points to the presence of a passionate transference.The notion of splitting of the transference that Phyllis Greenacre applies todidactic analysis can be transposed to a number of situations of ordinaryclinical practice. |
