| Summary, etc. | Cet article étudie la façon dont de grands équipements scientifiques, en l’occurrence des synchrotrons, et les recherches qu’ils permettent, se diffusent par une dialectique entre le niveau international et le niveau national. Cette circulation est particulièrement rythmée par les passages d’une génération d’équipements à l’autre. Les synchrotrons illustrent un modèle d’internationalisation qui n’est ni celui de la concentration des recherches dans un seul instrument au niveau mondial, ni celui d’un instrument qui s’adapte à de multiples usages grâce à l’action de communautés aux interstices de la science, de la technologie, de l’industrie et de la politique, mais celui d’équipements qui se multiplient grâce à la progressive attraction de nouvelles communautés d’utilisateurs. Les scientifiques favorisent ce développement en jouant entre les niveaux national et international, à tel point que les difficultés de la coopération internationale, comme les problèmes de communication, l’isolement et les conflits entre représentants de diverses nationalités, sont gommées. |

| Summary, etc. | The synchrotron generations: communities and facilities at the crossroads between the national and the internationalThis article examines how major types of scientific facilities, namely synchrotrons, and the research they enable, are diffused through a dialectic between the international and national levels. This circulation is particularly marked by the transition from one generation of facility to another. Synchrotrons illustrate an internationalization model that is neither that of the concentration of research in one single device in the world, nor that of a device that adapts to multiple uses due to the activities of communities at the interstices of science, technology, industry and politics, but that of facilities that multiply through the gradual attraction of new user communities. Scientists encourage this development by working between the national and international levels, to the point where the difficulties of international cooperation, such as communication problems, isolation, and conflicts between representatives of different nationalities, are erased. |

| Summary, etc. | En este artículo se estudian la manera cómo los grandes equipos científicos, aquí los sincrotrones, y las investigaciones que permiten, se difunden mediante una dialéctica entre nivel nacional y nivel internacional. Esta circulación se ve pautada por los pasos de una generación de equipos a otra. El modelo de internacionalización ilustrado por los sincrotrones no es el de la concentración de las investigaciones a nivel mundial, ni el de una herramienta que se adapta a usos múltiples gracias a la acción de comunidades ubicadas en la confluencia entre ciencia, tecnología, industria y política, sino el de equipos que se multiplican gracias a la progresiva atracción de nuevas comunidades de usuarios. Los científicos favorecen este desarrollo al situarse entre nivel nacional e internacional, hasta el punto de que las dificultades de la cooperación internacional, i.e. los problemas de comunicación, el aislamiento y los conflictos entre representantes de distintas nacionalidades, se ven desdibujadas. |

| Summary, etc. | Dieser Aufsatz unterstreicht die Art, in der, große wissenschaftliche Anlagen – in diesem Falle die Synchrotrone – und die durch sie ermöglichte Forschung, sich durch eine Dialektik auf internationalen und nationalen Niveau verbreiten. Diese Verbreitung wird besonders durch den Übergang von einer Anlagesgeneration zur anderen gestaltet. Die Synchrotrone stellen ein Modell der Internationalisierung vor, bei dem es sich weder um die Konzentrierung der Forschungen in einem einzigen Instrument auf Weltebene handelt, noch um ein Instrument, das sich an mehrfache Verwendungen dank der von Gemeinschaften in den Zwischenräumen der Wissenschaft, der Technologie, der Industrie und der Politik anpaßt, sondern um Anlagen, die dank der zunehmenden Anziehungskraft von neuen Nutzergemeinschaften sich vermehren. Die Wissenschaftler begünstigen diese Entwicklung, indem sie zwischen der nationalen und der internationalen Ebene spielen, sodaß die Schwierigkeit der internationalen Zusammenarbeit, sowie die Kommunikationsprobleme, die Isolierung und die Konflikte zwischen Vertretern der verschiedenen Nationalitäten verschwinden. |
