| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | The rereading of Dora study case by French psychosomatic analysts some fifty years after its publication has brought out the traumatic dimension and the core of actual anxiety present in the clinical material of Freud’s famous patient. Using certain concepts from the psychosomatic corpus, such as “somatic fixation” and “traumatic core”, the author questions the notion of "somatic compliance" and its vicissitudes, which can evolve as a symbolic symptom in the conversional lineage (pearl) or remain purely a trace of non-symbolized excitations (grain of sand) specific to the traumatic lineage (according to M. Fain) manifested by somatic symptoms. A cross-reading of the Dora and the Three Essays on Sexual Theory, written around the same time, also enables us to grasp the singularities of libidinal investments in erogenous zones, and to envisage the emergence of a “body of drives” bearing traces, potentially hysterogenic or traumatic. |
