| Summary, etc. | In seeing Mark Rothko’s work, trying to look at it while recognizing our unconscious participation in it, in order to draw out its destructive aestheticism of erasure, which Rothko’s life also allows us to approach. Placing the work within the Monochrome art movement allows an affiliation that opens up to the function of negative sublimations, creating survival color-spaces due to the failure of an internal framing structure. |
