| Summary, etc. | RésuméPartant de la difficulté de traduire la notion de care en français, cet article propose un bilan des apports de la littérature anglo-saxonne. Le débat anglo-saxon sur le care dépasse le niveau individuel et relationnel pour aborder le collectif et l’institutionnel. L’auteur propose de distinguer plusieurs niveaux de discussion dans ce débat et avance la notion de social care, qui permet d’aborder le problème que soulève l’articulation entre ces formes primaires de solidarité qui ont cours dans les réseaux de sociabilité – le « souci d’autrui » – et les formes socialisées et collectives de solidarités, qui permettent aux individus et aux groupes de faire face aux risques de l’existence. |

| Summary, etc. | Taking into account the difficulty to translate the concept of care in French, this article reviews some of the main contributions of interest in the field of social policy. In this debate, the notion of care is not limited to its private and interpersonal dimensions but also concerns the political and institutional ones. The author distinguishes different levels in this discussion and proposes to speak in terms of “social care” to analyse the problem of articulation of the primary forms of solidarity which occur in kinship networks and the collective and institutionalized dimension of collective solidarity, which supports people and groups to face social risks. |
