La notion de mania est donc d’emblée affectée par une ambiguïté que la tradition pseudo-aristotélicienne décuple en liant le génie créateur à la mélancolie. Oscillant entre don céleste et pathologie, entre surnature et terrain physiologique, la postérité artistique sera hantée, pour le meilleur et le pire, par cette double tradition et par sa double valence. Après avoir rappelé cet héritage complexe, l’auteur en montre les enjeux pour penser l’inspiration et la création artistique. |

| Summary, etc. | Plato identifies two different forms of mania, the first being a most human ailment, the second a divine gift that explains poetic inspiration among other things. The notion of mania therefore entails an ambiguity from the outset that the pseudo-Aristotelian tradition increases by connecting creative genius with melancholia. Oscillating between divine gift and pathology, between the supernatural and the physiological domain, artistic posterity will be haunted, for better or worse, by this double tradition and its double valency. Having indicated this complex legacy, the author demonstrates the issues it raises in relation to inspiration and artistic creation. |

| Summary, etc. | Platon unterscheidet zwei Formen der Mania, die erste ist eine allzu menschliche Krankheit, die zweite eine göttliche Gabe die unter anderem die poetische Inspiration erklärt. Der Begriff der Mania ist also von vornherein mit einer Ambiguität behaftet, die von der pseudo-aristotelischen Tradition durch die Verknüpfung des schöpferischen Genies mit der Melancholie potenziert wird. Oszillierend zwischen himmlischer Gabe und Pathologie, zwischen übernatürlichem und physiologischem Bereich, wird die künstlerische Nachwelt, im Guten wie im Schlechten, von dieser doppelten Tradition und ihrer doppelten Wertigkeit heimgesucht. Nach der Darstellung dieses komplexen Erbes zeigt die Autorin, was im Wesentlichen bei der Inspiration und dem künstlerischen Schaffen auf dem Spiele steht. |
