| Summary, etc. | RésuméCette recherche discute le renforcement de deux types d’acteurs dans la gouvernance d’entreprise : les nouveaux dirigeants au profil financier et les fonds d’investissement. Elle identifie alors les causes structurelles et organisationnelles de leur affirmation, la nature de leur relation ainsi que ses conséquences sur les stratégies industrielles des sociétés. En se centrant sur l’industrie suisse des machines, elle systématise ainsi les principales dimensions du processus de financiarisation, et relève le rôle déterminant du renouvellement des dirigeants. |

| Summary, etc. | Corporate Leaders and the Financialization Process. The Swiss Machine Industry since the 1990sThis research discusses the empowerment of two central actors in the corporate governance: new corporate leaders with a financial profile and investment funds. We identify the structural and organisational causes of this rising power, as well as the nature of their relationship and its consequences for the industrial strategies of firms. By focusing on the Swiss machine industry, we analyse the main dimensions of the financialization process and stress the central role of the renewal of top managers. |
