| Summary, etc. | L’article définit la responsabilité politique de l’entreprise au service de la maximisation du lien social et écologique. Il s’agit d’étudier les modèles économiques au prisme des principes d’une « éco-justice », qui sous-tend une telle responsabilité politique de l’entreprise. Une confirmation empirique de cette perspective normative non idéale est fournie par les résultats d’enquêtes menées depuis dix ans dans des zones touchées par l’activité pétrolière dans le delta du Niger, au Nigeria. La conception dominante de la RSE, telle qu’elle est mise en œuvre par le secteur extractif, loin d’atténuer les effets sociétaux négatifs de l’activité économique, contribue à accentuer la détérioration du lien social. |

| Summary, etc. | Oil and Social Ties. For a Political Responsability of the FirmThis paper defines a firm’s political responsibility as being at the service of maximising social and ecological ties. The aim here is to study economic models on the basis of principles stemming from an « eco-justice », which underpins companies’ political responsibility. This research examines the oil industry in Nigeria. Surveys carried out in the areas affected by oil production for over ten years offer empirical evidence of this non ideal normative perspective. The dominant conception of CSR, as applied in extractive industries, actually contributes to deteriorating social ties, instead of mitigating the negative social effects of economic activity. |
