Initialement la réflexion théorique a porté sur l’évaluation des objectifs du traitement : Ferenczi l’identifie à la fin des « mensonges », Freud la juge problématique en raison de la limite imposée par le « roc du biologique ». Progressivement, de nouveaux critères apparaissent (« Nebengewinn », gain à côté). Peu à peu ils portent sur le travail lui-même (analyse du transfert négatif, résolution de la névrose de transfert, capacité d’auto-analyse). Sont enfin abordées les résistances à la guérison de la question cruciale de la fixation à l’objet transférentiel. Cette fixation constitue une défense d’intensité variable. Tout abaissement définit une zone de terminaison possible. Elle indique un moment où le patient réinvestit narcissiquement ses capacités de sublimation tout en s’étayant du regard que l’objet de transfert fournit au déploiement de son retour sur lui-même. L’investissement décroît, mais surtout il devient qualitativement différent. |

Initially, theoretical reflection focused on evaluating the aims of treatment: Ferenczi identified the end with the end of “lies”; for Freud it was problematic owing to the limits imposed by the “biological bedrock”. Over the course of time, new criteria appeared (“ Nebengewinn”, secondary benefits). Gradually, they concerned the work itself (analysis of the negative transference, resolution of the transference-neurosis, capacity for self-analysis). And finally, resistances to overcoming the crucial question of fixation to the transference object. This fixation constitutes a defence of variable intensity. Any decrease defines a possible zone of termination. It indicates a moment when the patient narcissistically recathects his capacities for sublimation while drawing support from the way the transference object views the unfolding of the patient’s return to himself. The cathexis decreases, but above all it becomes qualitatively different. |

Con el tiempo, nuevos criterios aparecen (“ Nebengewinn”, beneficio adicionado). Progresivamente, atañen al trabajo en sí (análisis de la transferencia negativa, resolución de la neurosis de transferencia, capacidad de auto-análisis). Por último, se consideran las resistencias a la cura del tema crucial de la fijación al objeto transferencial. La fijación constituye una defensa de intensidad variable. Cualquier disminución define una zona de terminación posible, e indica un momento en el que el paciente recarga narcisísticamente su capacidad de sublimación, apoyándose al mismo tiempo en la orientación que el objeto de transferencia dota al despliegue del retorno a sí mismo. La carga decrece, pero fundamentalmente deviene cualitativamente diferente. |
