| Summary, etc. | En 1523, après avoir commis de nombreux méfaits contre l’autorité royale, le capitaine Montclou, originaire du Bourbonnais, fut exécuté à Paris. Le parcours de ce personnage interroge sur les difficultés d’un jeune souverain à maintenir la discipline militaire dans un contexte délicat pour son royaume. Il pose aussi de nombreuses questions sur une noblesse ayant du mal à réémerger depuis la fin de la guerre de Cent Ans, ainsi que sur les combattants déclassés. L’évolution politique du royaume, avec l’ombre du connétable de Bourbon, est un élément majeur de compréhension du problème Montclou. |
