| Summary, etc. | RésuméLe ressort du siège présidial d’Aurillac, en Auvergne, constitue un excellent exemple de l’enchevêtrement des territoires de justice sous l’Ancien Régime. La formation des quatre bailliages ordinaires ressortissant à la juridiction présidiale à partir de 1551 est étroitement liée à l’histoire politique de l’Auvergne de 1360 au début du xvie siècle, ce qui explique en grande partie l’imbrication des différents espaces de compétence judiciaire. À cela s’ajoute la mixité du droit qui caractérise ce territoire situé au niveau de la « frontière » entre pays de coutumes et pays de droit écrit et qui accentue encore l’apparente complexité de l’accès au droit en Haute-Auvergne sous l’Ancien Régime. |

| Summary, etc. | The Bailliage and presidial seat of Aurillac: a judiciary area betwen the countries of custom and the written law countriesThe jurisdiction of the presidial seat of Aurillac, Auvergne, proves to be an excellent example of the intricacies of territorial justice under the Ancien Regime. The formation of four common baillages within the presidial jurisdiction since 1551 has been closely linked to the political history of the Auvergne region from 1360 until the early sixteenth century, which largely explains the overlap of different areas of jurisdiction. To this must be added the intermixture of Law that characterizes this area located on the border line between the countries of custom and the written law countries, which further accentuates the apparent complexity for the access to Law in the Haute Auvergne during the Ancien Regime. |
