| Summary, etc. | Le durcissement récent des politiques pénales en Occident, notamment l’allongement des délais de prescription des crimes, interpelle les juristes mais aussi les autres spécialistes de la déviance, sociologues, psychologues et historiens. Les vertus du temps pour la pacification sociale semblent aujourd’hui avoir été remisées au magasin des antiquités. Les citoyens exigeraient des appareils judiciaires inflexibles et à la mémoire infinie, nouvelles Érinyes. La présente contribution introductive entend rappeler dans un premier propos les aspects positifs de l’oubli judiciaire, tout en pointant dans un second temps la tendance lourde de nos sociétés à mettre en scène la mémoire des crimes de masse et à en faire l’un éléments de la démocratie. |
