Summary, etc. | L’auteur s’appuie sur trois images du film Cris et chuchotements pour différencier les mythiques et les iconiques, les belles et les esthétiques. Ce qui est dit sur elles s’applique aussi aux mots. Ces quatre types se retrouvent dans les discours des analysants et il est utile de les distinguer pour faire bon usage des unes et éviter les pièges des autres. Des exemples l’illustrent. L’image mythique renvoie à des mythes qui appartiennent à notre culture autant qu’à l’enfance : la pietà, la mort, le Rien, les murs, l’errance, le cri… La violence de son irruption, comme celle de la belle image, introduit une rupture dans la continuité du discours du patient et de l’écoute de l’analyste, les attire fugacement plus loin sur l’autre scène. L’image iconique, violente, objet figé, sans polysémie, pris dans le stock culturel idéologique ou marchand actuel, veut convaincre sans discussion. L’image esthétique, elle aussi à visée défensive, cherche à séduire l’analyste, à endormir sa vigilance. |

Summary, etc. | The author uses three images from the film Cries and Whispers to differentiate mythical and iconic images from beautiful and aesthetic images. What is said about them also applies to words. These four types are found in the discourses of analysands and it is useful to distinguish them in order to make good use of one and to avoid the pitfalls of the others. Examples are given to illustrate this. The mythical image refers to myths that belong to our culture as much as to childhood: the pietà, death, Nothingness, the walls, wandering, the cry… The violence of its eruption, like that of the beautiful image, introduces a break in the continuity of the patient’s discourse and the analyst’s listening, and fleetingly attracts them further on to the other stage. The violent, iconic image, a fixed object, without polysemy, caught in the current ideological or commercial cultural stock, seeks to convince without discussion. The aesthetic image, which also has a defensive aim, seeks to seduce the analyst, to lull his vigilance. |

Summary, etc. | El autor se apoya en tres imágenes de la película Gritos y susurros para diferenciar las míticas de las icónicas y las bellas de las estéticas. Lo dicho sobre las imágenes es también aplicable a las palabras. Los cuatro tipos están presentes en los discursos de los analisantes y es útil distinguirlos a fin de hacer un buen uso de unas y sortear las trampas de las otras. Dos ejemplos van a ilustrarlo.
