| Summary, etc. | Cet article retrace l’émergence de la demande de réparations pour les préjudices subis pendant l’esclavage dans la communauté noire aux Etats-Unis. Il s’agit de comprendre comment ces réclamations émergent dans le débat public, dans la société en général, qui les formule, sous quelles formes et quelles en sont les répercussions. Cette demande a traversé les siècles, les cercles de réflexions et d’action, pour resurgir dans le débat public pendant la mandature du premier président afro-américain en 2014. C’est une question qui nourrit jusqu’à aujourd’hui des connexions diasporiques. Je l’aborderai de façon chronologique, depuis le xviiie siècle jusqu’à nos jours. |

| Summary, etc. | From the 18th century to the present day, this article chronologically retraces the emergence of compensation claims by the Black community in the US for the prejudices suffered during slavery. It examines how these claims emerged in public debate, in society in general ; who made them, in what form and their subsequent impact. This demand crossed the centuries and circles of reflection and action, before re-emerging in public debate during the term of office of the first African-American US president in 2014. It has become an issue that feeds relations within the diaspora, even today. |
