On se confronte alors à des achoppements de l’associativité, qui renvoient à des failles de symbolisation, des clivages, des ruptures de la pensée. Pourtant, l’analyste travaille là comme ailleurs avec ses propres associations, et piste l’associativité qui parfois advient dans le discours du patient, témoignant de capacités élaboratives sur lesquelles il pourra s’appuyer. |

We are then confronted with the stumbling-blocks of associativity, which have to do with defects in symbolization, splitting and ruptures of thought. And yet the analyst works here as elsewhere with his own associations and tracks the associativity that sometimes occurs in the patient’s discourse, revealing elaborative capacities on which he can rely. |
